The Sock Monster offers Seattle’s largest selection of fun and functional socks.
Located one mile east of the University of Washington in the Wallingford neighborhood, the Sock Monster evolved from the desire of founder Holly Gummelt to share her love of color and creativity in the form of socks and locally sourced artisanal goods.
The Sock Monster opened in 2010 and has since become a “must-see” shop when visiting Seattle due to its large selection of unique, high-quality socks, including socks featuring images from Seattle artists.
In late 2019, the Sock Monster changed its ownership to long-time manager, Kelly Tremaine, who continues to support Holly’s vision of a woman-owned company supporting other women-owned companies. The Sock Monster always strives to source its socks from factories that work hard to support fair-trade and sustainable practices.
We hope that you enjoy our thoughtfully selected inventory of high-quality socks and related items. Among our exclusive merchandise, we offer Sock Monster sock garters in a variety of colors not found elsewhere.
The Sock Monster recently updated its website. Not all merchandise offered at our Wallingford shop is available online yet, but our sales associates are happy to personally assist you with your sock shopping needs by phone or e-mail.
Please feel free to contact us with any questions or comments. We look forward to hearing from you.
